BPAC nominees announced

The Irish Horse Board (IHB) is a membership organisation for breeders and primary producers of Irish horses and ponies (Irish Sport Horse; Irish Draught Horse; Irish Cobs and Irish Sport Ponies) with in excess of 8,000 currently active members/shareholders.

The IHB also nominates suitably qualified individuals to represent various studbook interests on the Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) Breeding and Production Advisory Council (BPAC).

HSI recently approved and ratified the following individuals as IHB BPAC nominees until 31 July 2022.

IHB member and specialist cob breeder Flore North (first term) has been nominated to represent the Irish cob and Irish part-bred cob studbook. IHB directors Elizabeth Deane (second term) and Pat McCarthy (second term) will continue as Irish Draught Horse studbook nominees and represent both the Irish Draught Horse Society (IDHS) and the Irish Draught Horse Breeders Association (IDHBA) members ’views and interests.

IHB director Liam Lynskey (first term) will take on the role of Irish Sport Pony Studbook nominee. IHB Directors Marion Hughes (second term), Neil Henry (second term) and incoming IHB director Tiernan Gill (first term) will complete the line-up as Irish Sport Horse studbook nominees.

Nominees hold seats for a two-year term and participate in typically four BPAC meetings per annum dealing with matters of studbook policy, breeding and production while representing the interests of their specific studbook interest and the wider IHB membership.
