Eight Department of Agriculture clinics to help farmers make the switch to the now mandatory paper-based Basic Payment Scheme (BPS)online applications will take place next week.

On Tuesday 3 April, farmers can attend BPS clinics in the Cavan Crystal Hotel, Cavan, from 9am to 12.30om or at the Carrickdale Hotel, Dundalk, Co Louth, from 4pm to 7.30pm.

On Wednesday, clinics will be held in the Four Seasons Hotel, Coolshannagh, Co Monaghan, from 9am to 12.30pm and in the Ardboyne Hotel, Navan, Co Meath, from 4pm to 7.30pm.

Thursday’s clinics will be held in the Department of Agriculture office in Johnstown Castle, Co Wexford, from 9am to 12.30pm and in the Arklow Bay Hotel, Arklow, Co Wicklow, from 4pm to 7.30pm.

On Friday, farmers can attend the West Grove Hotel, Clane, Naas, Co Kildare, from 9am to 12.30pm or the Springhill Hotel, Kilkenny city, from 4pm to 7.30pm.

Further clinics will take place nationwide.

What to bring

Farmers should bring their username, password and PAC for their AgFood online account, if registered.

If not registered, farmers should bring photo ID and PPS number. They should also bring their BPS information packs including statement of maps and land.
