Some 1,500 farmers have received their Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) advance money in the past week. Latest figures show that 118,623 farmers have been issued their 70% advance payment, amounting to €772.9m. However, that still leaves around 7,500 farmers unpaid to date.

Total payments of €190.8m have been made to 88,373 farmers under the Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) and Areas of Specific Constraint (ASC) schemes. In the past week, 20,515 sheep farmers have received €15.8 under the Sheep Welfare Scheme. With a further 2,000 farmers in the scheme, the 85% advance payments will continue to issue.

Some 3,800 farmers have not been paid their GLAS 2016 money because their nutrient management plans (NMP) have not been submitted.

With GLAS 2017 advance payments expected to commence in the coming weeks, these too will be delayed until NMPs are submitted.
