The Irish Farmers Journal understands Mullingar-based Thomas Flynn and Sons has lost the franchise for both Massey Ferguson and Fendt.

After selling Massey tractors for over 35 years, it is understood that the Flynn family will remain in the machinery business. John Flynn will continue to operate the fuel and retail business, alongside the agri feed business, operated in conjunction with Drummonds.

Meanwhile, Cooney Furlong in Wexford looks set to take on the agency for Case IH for the southeast.

The Enniscorthy company, set up only four years ago by Walter Furlong and Kevin Cooney, will benefit from the Case IH brand.

It is unclear at this stage how this may affect the current Case IH dealership network and when the agency may be taken on.
