To celebrate 30 years in business, Derry-based Specialist Joinery Group is aiming to raise £100,000 for charity by holding Ireland's largest ever tractorthon.

The company its staff to choose 10 charities to benefit from the run, with the company picking up the costs thus ensuring every penny lifted goes to worthy causes.

The run, titled Project Tractor, will aim to break the current Irish record of 750 participants.

The run takes place on 10 March, beginning at Specialist Joinery's Maghera headquarters and travelling a 30-mile route through Tobermore, Draperstown, Desertmartin, Magherafelt, Castledawson, Bellaghy and Gulladuff.

Participants will enjoy breakfast at the factory whilst enjoying a special guest musical performance by Ritchie Remo of “Hit The Diff” fame.

Other names are being added to this line up and local compere Brian Moore be on hand to jolly matters along and get the rally underway.

The activities, including registration, commence at 9.00am on Saturday 10th March and the tractors will make their way round the circuit at 1.00pm.
