The Claas Axion 800 range has now transitioned to Stage V FPT engines. Power output from the five model range remains the same, right from the 205hp Axion 800 right up to the 295hp Axion 870. There has been a slight increase in the torque curve, providing more low-down torque.

More hydraulic capacity is now offered, with the option of a 205l/min pump in addition to the standard 110l/min and optional 150l/min pumps. An upgraded seven-plate PTO clutch has been added for greater durability when dealing with heavy load implements.

Cosmetically, these new Stage V models are denoted by the new bonnet detailing which was first introduced on the 600 and 500 series Arion tractors last year.

Inside the cab, operators now benefit from a number of new features. The Axion 800 models, as with the Arion range will be offered as standard with the latest Cebis Touch terminal with integrated Isobus UT. The firm says this allows it to be used as a universal control terminal, however, the S10 terminal will still be needed for more advance Isobus functions such as variable application rates and section control.

Other new features within the Cebis terminal include, a USB socket for data transfer, upgraded implement settings and storage function, average wheel slip readings and the ability to view external cameras through the Cebis screen. Users now have greater customisability over screen layout to suit individual preferences.

In the cab, Claas have added the option of a leather steering wheel, which will be standard in higher specification Cebis Extra Leather Pack versions. A high specification Grammer EVO Dual Motion seat is also now available, which is heated, ventilated and comes with a tilting headrest. As standard, twin brake pedals will now be fitted along with a tinted rear window.

Essentially in more lay-man’s terms, this means that from now on the Axion 800 series will no longer be fitted with Stage IV engines. Instead models will now be fitted with the latest lower emission Stage V engines in compliance with EU emission regulations. Power and performance will go unchanged apart from a slight torque increase. From now on Axion 800 models will offer these subtle updates in performance and increased operator comfort options.
