For the 2021 maize season Claas will offers its updated Orbis 900 maize header for the Jaguar range of forage harvesters. Similar to its smaller sibling the Orbis 750, the updated 900 model’s frame will consist of five sections.

Claas says that the entire folding process takes only 30 seconds with the operator not having to move from the cab. At speeds between 2km/h and 7km/h the automatic folding process can be engaged with the touch of a button. An optional fully integrated transport protection system with warning stickers and lighting automatically pivots into the appropriate position for both road travel and harvesting mode.

In cases where a drive axle load of 11.5t cannot be exceeded, an integrated transport system is available. This is deployed automatically when road travel mode or oscillation damping is activated.

The new tilting frame on the Orbis 900 is said to improve ground following capabilities.

The Orbis 900 is equipped with front attachment detection and an automatic header drive coupling for quick attaching and detaching times.

The Orbis 900 features a new tilting frame with a +/- 5° tilt correction, which works in combination with the Auto Contour hydraulic swing movement compensation. The combination of these two features have improved the headers ability to follow ground contours.

In addition to the two standard sensor bands on the headers outer edges, a third centrally fitted sensor band is available as an option. This provides an even better ground contour following performance.
