Farmers have been overlooked in the raft of financial supports announced by the Government for businesses affected by the coronavirus.

On Tuesday, Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys announced a €200m fund for the Working Capital Scheme operated by the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI).

The scheme is open to agri-businesses but farmers are not eligible for this scheme and no additional funding has been announced for the farmer-specific Agriculture Investment Loan operated by the SBCI.
