Crystal Swing launched their new 12-track album, Sun Still Shines, in the Midleton Park Hotel last week. The album features a blend of well-known numbers as well as some new songs penned by respected writers on the Irish circuit. It was produced by Joe McNamee in Derry, a member of The Ryan Turner Band.

“We had a great night at the launch in Midleton where we were joined by the Ryan Turner Band, Dominic Kirwan, Trudi Lalor and Michael Collins,” says Mary.

“We have a hilarious new YouTube video called Letter Mix to accompany the song co-written by Shay Healy and John Farry. Derek’s own song, Mollie, is also proving popular around the country. The title song was one of our previous singles and was written by John Watters and Tommy Moran, both formerly from Castlerea.”

Crystal Swing is a family band from Cork that hit the headlines in 2010 when their YouTube video He Drinks Tequila went viral. They have appeared on The Late Late Show and The Saturday Night Show on RTÉ as well as making numerous other appearances on various TV and radio shows around the country.

American TV talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, invited them on her show and they regard this as the biggest highlight in their career.

A busy year lies ahead with concerts and various other shows. Dervla is getting married in August so it looks like it’ll be a memorable year for them.
