Dairygold today announced a 2018 green barley and wheat price of €205/t.

Both prices are based on a green price at 20% moisture content, are ex-VAT and are inclusive of premiums based on minimum purchase terms.

The co-op also announced a price of €200/t for oats, €235/t for contracted malting barley, €240/t for beans and €360/t for oilseed rape.

The 2018 prices are the highest paid by Dairygold since 2012 and are over 40% higher than last year, a reflection on current market dynamics.

The full list of cereal, beans and oilseed prices from Dairygold can be found in Table 1.

All prices are ex-VAT, subject to quality adjustments and inclusive of the minimum purchase bonus. Grains and bean prices are set at 20% moisture and oilseed rape at 9%.

When member bonuses are included, this is a €60/t increase in green barley price and a €52/t increase in wheat price when compared to 2017.

In a statement the co-op said: “Dairygold is committed to maximising the use of native Irish cereals across its range of feedstuffs and is demonstrating its support for, and commitment to its cereal growers by paying leading prices."
