Dale Farm and Glanbia Cheese are the only processors in NI to announce a price increase for milk supplied during August.

Dale Farm set its price on Tuesday, confirming a 1p/l increase to 25.25p/l. With its 0.3p/l loyalty bonus included, it brings the co-op’s suppliers to an all-in base of 25.55p/l.

Glanbia Cheese increased its base price by 0.75p/l, bringing suppliers to a starting price of 25p/l.

It is the third month in a row that both processors have increased base prices. However, they still remain behind the lead set by Glanbia Milk/Fivemiletown.

Strathroy also held for August, keeping its suppliers on a base of 25p/l

Glanbia Milk was one of three processors to leave its base price unchanged for August, keeping suppliers on a starting price of 26p/l, which includes its 0.6p/l year-round bonus.

Lakeland Dairies was first to set a price for last month and with no change being applied, it remains on a base of 25.25p/l.

Strathroy also held for August, keeping its suppliers on a base of 25p/l. That leaves Aurivo co-op as the only processor still to declare a price.

Full analysis on August milk prices will be outlined in next week’s milk league.
