Suppliers to Dale Farm who are thinking of on-farm diversification and selling the likes of bottled milk or ice cream direct to the public, might have to think again.

It is understood that the issue has been discussed within the co-op, and it will now look to discourage members from establishing such ventures.

At issue is the fact that the outputs from some of these farm diversification projects could end up competing directly with Dale Farm products in local shops.
