The Irish Farmers Journal understands a dispute is ongoing over the ownership of Southern Milling, the Cork city-based animal feed company. The dispute is understood to date back to 2005, when the business was acquired from ADM.

Information from the companies office (CRO) lists the directors in Southern Milling as John Twomey and Collette O’Brien, who each hold a 50% share in the company.

However, it is understood this is being challenged by a southeast-based merchant who claims to have a stake in the company dating back to when the business was bought from ADM in 2005.

Southern Milling produces over 200,000t of animal feed from its facility in Cork docks and owns Paul & Vincent, the Co Longford-based animal feed business which produces in excess of 200,000t of feed each year. Southern Milling also owns Kelliher’s feed and agri supplies in Tralee, Co Kerry.

The parent company of Southern Milling is listed as Limcor, an unlimited company registered in the British Virgin Islands.
