It will be dry in most areas on Tuesday morning, but with a good deal of cloud and a few patches of rain near Atlantic coasts.

The Ploughing 2017 site in Screggan, Tullamore, is forecast to hold dry for the day.

Meanwhile, patchy rain and drizzle will develop more widely across western and northwestern counties during the afternoon.

On Tuesday night, a band of rain is to cross the country from the west, bringing rain to the Ploughing, so pack the wellies and waterproof jacket for Wednesday.

Getting there

If you’re going to the Ploughing this week, the NPA and the Gardaí have a traffic management plan in place.

While Tuesday is forecast to be a dry day, it goes without saying that those attending the Ploughing should bring the wellies, as some parts have become sticky.
