With a working width of three metres, the R300S is the smallest drill within the Spirit range. This drill features Vaderstad’s E-Control, a wireless communication method that enables full access to the drill’s functions and data.

Suitable for min till or direct drilling applications, this drill uses a double disc configuration. The drill’s fan and electrical systems are all integrated at the front of the 2,800l capacity seed hopper undercover. Starting from the front, the drill is equipped with a pivot packer for reconsolidation. Next up are the track eradicators, followed by 450mm diameter conical discs. The working depth is adjustable from the cab. A second round of large packer wheels (6x400/55-15.5) consolidates the soil between the front tool and rear mounted seed coulters.

Seed placement

The Spirit R has 380mm offset discs for accuracy. These discs move the soil to the side and place the seed at the bottom of the seed furrow. A key feature of the drill is its active coulter and wing pressure. Sensors in the hydraulic system inform the machine whether it’s on an incline or in a hollow. Valves instantly compensate for pressure drops or increases, ensuring the coulter pressure is maintained at the pre-set value. The Spirit comes with a centrally mounted following harrow that presses down on the soil under its own weight.

E-Control

The E-Control interface in the cab is wirelessly connected to the drill via a gateway, which is mounted on the machine. The gateway creates its own wireless network, so there is no need for internet access. An iPad is used as a method of display once stationed in the Vaderstad E-Keeper.
