eir, Ireland’s largest telecommunications company, has announced today that it is hiring 50 apprentices, and interested candidates have until 8 April to get their applications in.

“We are undertaking the largest broadband rollout programme across Europe, with a strategic investment plan that is unmatched in Ireland,” Una Stafford, director of field operations, said.

Una added that is an “opportunity to get hands-on and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, getting unparalleled experience.” Applicants will have the opportunity to work as customer service and assurance technicians where the primary focus will be on the maintenance and repair of equipment. The two-year programme provides on-the-job learning, one-to-one coaching and formal classroom training: it will begin in September and run for two years. Successful applicants will also receive a Level 6 FETAC Telecommunications Access Networks Technology Award.

Those who have passed their Leaving Certificate are eligible to apply.
