Moy Park has over 12,000 employees across the UK and Europe. Over the last four years, 58 candidates have gone through Moy Park’s two-year graduate management trainee programme. The scheme is open to graduates across all disciplines and includes four different placement opportunities.

Graduates receive a CMI level five certificate in leadership and management. The programme, which has been running for five years, was named “training programme of the year” at the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards earlier this month.

Katherine Strain, head of talent and organisational development at Moy Park, said those on the graduate progarmme “can gain skills in team leadership, personal effectiveness, financial awareness and commercial acumen.”

Katherine also noted there are opportunities available for those with an interest in technical, engineering, product development, marketing, finance, logistics, “or any number of other areas”.

Moy Park also works closely with colleges to give learning experiences, mentoring and career support to apprentices. The company also gives a range of placement experiences and bursary opportunities to students and young people.

The company was recently awarded the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chamber Award for commitment to people development.

Silver Hill Farm, which is based in Emyvale, Co Monagahanm, created 15 new positions in production in 2015. The company expects to hire between 5 and 10 people in 2017. Silver Hill is also planning to open a new plant and hopes to increase the number of employees from 200 to 250 by 2020.

Annalitten Foods took on four new people this year, three in newly-created general operative potisions while one person was replaced in quality control. The company employs 18 people altogether.
