Land parcels totalling 31ac plus an old farmhouse and a modern bungalow, all in Co Laois, will be sold at auction next month by Hennessy Auctioneers and Valuers who are based in Stradbally. This is an executor sale by the representatives of the late Christine Kennedy and the holding will be sold in a number of lots. The property is near Ballacolla. The online auction will be on Friday 11 June at 3pm on the LSL platform.

The largest of the land parcels is 20ac at Coolbally, Clough, Ballacolla. It is located 3km off the R434 Ballacolla to Borris-in-Ossary road. The land is in one block laid out in four fields and there is good fencing. This holding includes an old style two-storey farmhouse in need of full refurbishment and a number of old sheds. The house extends to 1,220sq feet and has been empty for over 15 years.

The next largest parcel of land is 7.9ac of permanent pasture at Aghaboe, Ballacolla. This, too, is located just off the Ballacolla to Borris-in-Ossary road. It is within walking distance of the Aghaboe Abbey.

The holding includes a separate 2.5ac piece of land, divided into two fields and accessed by a right of way off the road. Auctioneer John Hennessy said these two pieces of land will be of greatest interest to the adjoining and local landowners.

Finally, the holding includes a four bedroomed bungalow on 0.8ac at Coolbally, Clough, Ballacolla. It has mature gardens and a paddock for ponies. The house is in good condition.
