The latest analysis of British retail beef prices by EBLEX has shown that the farmer share of the retail price dropped again in July.

The average price received by a producer was 325.5p/kg, but the equivalent price at retail level was 709.6p/kg. This means that for a 350kg carcase, the farmer received £1,139, but at retail level this animal was worth £2,483, leaving a margin for those further along the supply chain of £1,344 per animal.
