Proving that good things happen to good people, the Farming for Nature team scooped second prize and a €40,000 cash prize in the prestigious international Act for Biodiversity Challenge competition.

Dr Brendan Dunford and Brigid Barry are well known for their work in the farming community, especially in the Burren region of Clare. Brendan said they were just trying to celebrate the work farmers were already doing to help nature and biodiversity on their farms.

With more emphasis on biodiversity in the next CAP, the new minister might want to add the pair to his speed-dial list.
