Fertiliser prices were up 14.6% on May 2020, with nitrogen up 20.1% and compound fertilisers up 12.7%, the latest Central Statistics Office (CSO) data shows.

Feed prices were up 8.5%, with straight feeds up 13.2% and cattle feed (excluding calves) up 10.6%. Electricity prices also increased, by 9.4%, and fuel was up 22.5%. Overall crop and livestock output was up 13.4% in May, with, sheep prices up almost 30%, cereals up 5.8% and cattle prices up 14.5%.
