The incident occurred when the bull was leaving the Limousin ring following judging at around 10am. It is said the man was knocked unconscious, having been dragged and trampled by his bull which became spooked. The handler was then treated by ambulance staff before being brought Harrogate District Hospital

A post on the British Limousin Cattle Society’s Facebook page said: “Due to unfortunate circumstances that occurred during judging, it was not possible to turn out the male champion in the overall championship.”

It’s understood that the handler was treated for non-serious head injuries.
