Machinery arrives for FTMTA auction

Machinery has been arriving from FTMTA members across the country to Punchestown Event Centre all week for the FTMTA Farm Machinery Trade Auction to be held at Punchestown this Saturday 24 February. Details and photographs of many lots representing a wide variety of farm machinery, as well as a large assortment of parts, can be viewed through the plant and machinery section on the Wilsons Auctions website www.wilsonsauctions.com, with more still to be added.

Viewing will be open at Punchestown on Friday 23 February, from 10am to 4pm and from 9am on the morning of the auction with the sale starting at 11am. Bidding will be possible, by registered bidders only, in person, online or through a pre-bid service.

Finance Ireland Leasing is interested in working with potential purchasers to provide finance for qualifying machines which they may be considering purchasing at the auction. Finance Ireland Leasing personnel will be present on the preview and auction days to speak with interested parties in advance of the sale. Breakfast briefing for members at FTMTA auction

A breakfast briefing for FTMTA members will be held at Punchestown Racecourse on the morning of the FTMTA Farm Machinery Trade Auction on Saturday 24 February. Breakfast will be served from 9am in the La Touche Restaurant at the racecourse and will be sponsored by Davy Group, Ireland’s leading provider of financial advisory services.

Brian Cox, associate director for Davy Private Clients, will speak in relation to Brexit and the implications for the farm machinery sector and Brian Walsh, head of tax with Davy, will address the issue of succession planning.

Cox has been with Davy since 2000 and specialises in developing and advising on financial plans and investment strategies for business owners, and on the ongoing management of investment portfolios. Brian holds a MA in economics/business from TCD and an MSc (financial services) from UCD. Brian is a qualified financial adviser (QFA) and a certified financial planner (CFP).

Walsh joined Davy in 2006 as head of financial planning. Brian works closely with clients and their advisers to ensure that any investment strategy is considered in conjunction with an overall financial plan and is structured in a tax-efficient manner. Brian is a chartered tax adviser, QFA, trustee and estate practitioner (TEP) and a member of the Institute of Bankers in Ireland.

The speakers will deliver valuable information and advice while the breakfast presents a great networking opportunity for FTMTA members to meet colleagues from across the country.
