Corkman Roy Geary has been elected chairman of the animal health division of the Animal and Plant Health Association (APHA). He is regional director with multinational animal health company Zoetis, with responsibility for Ireland and the Nordic region.

He will now lead the association’s input into the latest EU review of legislation on animal remedies and medicated feed. This could have a significant effect on availability and use of animal medicines by Irish farmers.

Geary is a graduate in ag science from UCD. He worked in the AI and farm services division of Dairygold, before joining Zoetis in 2003 and taking up his current role in 2014.
