The annual Gerry Guthrie and Friends Weekend will be staged in the Dolmen Hotel in Carlow this year. The Mayo man is looking forward to the big event, which takes place on the weekend of 7 April to 9 April.

Gerry’s profile on the country circuit has been greatly enhanced in recent years. His decision to concentrate on traditional country music is paying off. He was also the recipient of one of the Farmers Journal Country Sound premier awards two years ago.

The Carlow weekend features four hours of dancing with two bands on stage on Friday and Saturday, 7 April and 8 April. Gerry and his band launch proceedings at 10pm on the Friday night, followed by Michael English and his band, with Stuart Moyles also doing a guest spot.

Gerry and the band will be joined for the Saturday night dance by Ray Lynam, Philomena Begley and Matt Leavy. The weekend wraps up with Gerry and the band, along with special guest Sandy Kelly, on the Sunday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm.

The Dolmen is booked out for accommodation for the Gerry Guthrie and Friends weekend, but patrons can get regular tickets at the door on both nights as well as on Sunday afternoon. If you need further details about the event, call 087 333 4336.
