Glanbia milk suppliers will in effect get the same milk price in December as they got in November, because the November biodiversity bonus has been removed, but the base price lifts 0.5 c/litre.

The December base price is essentially 29.1c/l ex-VAT at 3.3% protein and 3.6% fat.

On top of this is are the 0.4c/l GI profit share, the 0.4c/l bonus and now this month the late supply bonus of 1.9 c/l ex VAT, bringing December farmgate price to 31.7c/l at base solids.

Ornua PPI

The Ornua PPI released last week held constant for December milk.

The last GDT auction was up almost 4% - the fourth consecutive rise in the auction result.

Glanbia Ireland chair John Murphy said: “Overall, dairy markets are generally stable and the new EU-UK trade and co-operation agreement is a positive development for the future EU-UK relationship.

“We will continue to monitor the impact of COVID-19 restrictions and Brexit-related customs arrangements closely over the coming months.”
