DEAR SIR:

Why is the biggest processor in the country continually paying the worst market price for milk?

  • Aurivo 36.6c/l incl VAT, November.
  • Dairygold 36c/l incl 0.5c/l quality bonus and VAT.
  • Arrabawn 37c/l incl VAT.
  • Kerry 36c/l incl VAT.
  • Lakeland 36.5c/l incl VAT plus 1c litre butter bonus.
  • Glanbia 35c/l incl VAT.
  • Nearly all processors have held their respective milk prices for September, October and November. Some have even topped up payments with quality and butter payments, but Glanbia continually languishes behind as it has done all year.

My question is why? Why is the largest processor in the country continually paying the worst price? The fixed milk price schemes offered are not an excuse to hide behind. Other co-ops are offering better terms than Glanbia and yet they seem to be able pay a better price. Glanbia, your suppliers want an answer.
