Advisers have been appointed to all Green Low-carbon Agri-environment Scheme (GLAS) commonages

There are 18,300 GLAS farmers on 3,085 commonages, figures from the Department of Agriculture show.

In August 2017, the Department sought to appoint advisers to 300 commonages after no advisers were initially appointed. Now, all commonages have an advisers.

The facility to submit commonage management plans (CMPs) for those involved in GLAS was opened in mid-October 2017 by the Department with the deadline to submit plans the 31 October. However, some 401 CMPs remain outstanding before GLAS payments can issue to these farmers.
