After four consecutive falls, the Global Dairy Trade auction rose by 2.7% on Tuesday. The upturn was mainly driven by a rise in skim milk powder and whole milk powder, which rose by 3.8% and 3.6% respectively. Cheddar was also up 3.3%. Butter and anhydrous milk fat both rose by 1.7%. Rennet casein fell by 3.4%.

There were 116 winning bidders and some 25,000 metric tonnes of product was sold. The average price was $3,412 (€3,043) per tonne.
