Argentinian beef exports for July stood at 32,000t, which is up more than 70% on the same month last year. This brings Argentinian beef exports for the first seven months of 2018 close to 185,000t, which is 65% ahead of last year.

Almost 60,000t of Brazilian beef was purchased by buyers in China and Hong Kong during the month of August. China has now imported over 191,000t of Brazilian beef in the first eight months of the year, a near-50% increase on 2017 shipments.

US beef exports for July stood at just under 117,000t, a 12% increase on the same month in 2017. Led by strong demand from South Korea and Japan, US beef exports for the first seven months of 2018 have now hit 780,000t, which is up 10% on last year.

Grain exports from the Ukraine are set to hit 42m tonnes for the coming year after the country’s 2018 grain harvest was revised higher to just over 63m tonnes by the Ukrainian agriculture ministry. In Russia, the 2018 grain harvest is set to hit 105m tonnes, allowing 30m tonnes for export.
