US milk production for September stood at 7.6bn litres, reflecting a 1.3% rise on the same month last year. Californian milk production rebounded strongly in September by almost 5% year on year to hit 1.4bn litres.

Brazilian beef exporters shipped just over 31,000t of frozen beef to China in October. This is the fourth consecutive month that Brazilian beef exports to China have broken the 30,000t mark. In the first 10 months of 2018, Brazil has shipped almost 260,000t of beef to China.

In its latest World Agricultural Supply and Demand report (WASDE), the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has estimated Chinese stocks of maize corn to be 207m tonnes. This is a massive jump on the USDA’s previous estimate of 59m tonnes.

Despite recent rains in Australia, the forecapst for the country’s wheat crop in 2018/19 has been revised lower by 1m tonnes by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) to 17.5m tonnes. Wheat exports are also revised down by 1.5m tonnes to 11.5m tonnes.
