Kilkenny 2 Kampala GAA Challenge

Want to play a part in funding the first full size GAA pitch on the African continent? Leisure centre assistant manager Sinead Brennan (LGFA) and former Kilkenny hurling all-star, Aidan “Taggy” Fogarty have just returned from Uganda where they led a training blitz for children at Kampala GAA club.

The Kilkenny 2 Kampala GAA Challenge is hoping to raise enough funds to secure a new training pitch and clubhouse in Kampala, Uganda.

Newpark hotel, who sponsored Sinead and Aidan’s trip, is hoping to raise at least €20,000 so that Kampala GAA can secure a final payment on three acres of land for a new training pitch and clubhouse on the outskirts of the Ugandan capital. Significantly, the clubhouse will be able to provide meals for every training session and with enough raised, there will be hurls and helmets for all children taking part too.
