Deadlines to apply for many graduate programmes are fast approaching. There is a long list of companies looking for the next generation of graduates, most of whom will be qualifying from their undergraduate degree next year.

Some of the sectors included will be dairy processing, meat processing, retail and financial services. Irish Country Living summarises some of the companies currently recruiting. Many of them will be looking for high academic grades and a full clean driving licence.

If you are considering a graduate programme it is important not just to look at the salary on offer, but the further education opportunities included in the programme. Some of these will be formal education with an external school or institute. Others will be the broad range of experience the programme offers, including placement overseas or strong mentoring.
