The annual Dunderry Fair Day in Co Meath takes place on Sunday 11 May. The show will have a strong country music flavour, with Robert Mizzell, Matt Leavy and Charlie Arkins on stage throughout the afternoon. According to Kieran O’Shea, this year’s main beneficiaries are Multiple Sclerosis Ireland and an Autism charity.

Michael Collins from Limerick has emerged as winner of the Glór Tíre 2014 series. Michael fronts his own popular three-piece band on the social dancing circuit in the Munster region. The other finalists were Farah Bogle from Ballyshannon and Barry Devlin from Tyrone.

Bernie Heaney is back in the studios recording tracks for her new album. A promotional single, Ride Me Down Easy, a song that was a huge success in the US for Bobby Bare and Waylon Jennings, has just been released.

The Promise and The Dream is the latest single from Patrick Feeney. The Sligo man has opted to revive the song that was once a major hit for Tommy Drennan. It was penned by Tom T Hall from Olive Hill, Kentucky, one of America’s greatest songwriters.

Danny Webster remains a busy man on the céili circuit. The Kilkenny man has made an excellent recovery from a health setback about two years ago and he now has a busy summer ahead. Congratulations are also in order to Danny and Mary who celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary last week.

Nicky Drew has recorded a fine version of Let’s Go To Vegas. Watch out for some launch nights in the coming weeks under the guidance and direction of Desi Egan from Athlone.
