Grass growth continues to run ahead of demand on Tullamore Farm. The farm recorded 68kg DM/ha of growth over the past seven days, with demand running at 45kg DM/ha. The farm currently has 13 days ahead but with growth continuing strong, it's anticipated that further paddocks will be taken out as surplus silage if weather conditions allow. Silage was well wilted and baled in excellent conditions and yielded approximately five bales/acre. Paddocks where silage was removed got one bag/acre of 18:6:12 to replace P and K offtake.

Faecal sample results came back clear from coughing calves. Calves will continue to be monitored and faecal-sampled on a regular basis to catch any issues early. Breeding is going well, with 78 out of a possible 90 bred after 3.5 weeks. A further 11 late-calving cows are running with the Limousin bull. The Aberdeen Angus bull has been turned out with the maiden heifers, after 13/15 have been artificially inseminated.

Breeding is scheduled to finish on 2 July. AI will continue for another three weeks and then three weeks running with stock bulls. Dairy X beef heifers are due to be weighed next week and calves will also get their first weighing in the next two weeks.
