The farm

The farm comprises of 74 acres in total. The first lot is circa 17 acres. This is the best land on the farm. This lot contains a derelict farmhouse, together with a haybarn, yard and ancillary sheds. It is guided at €150,000 or almost €9,000/ac.

The second lot contains the majority of the land. It is 58 acres in total. Half of the land was described as good-quality while the other half is heavier and is in need of work, particularly drainage. All the land in the entire package is in grass and was used for grazing. A private family is the vendor. The agent handling the sale, Tom Crosse of GVM Limerick, noted that beef farmers in the area were the predominantly interested parties so far, though more dairy farmers were enquiring.
