The grandfather of RTÉ Radio, Donncha O’Dulaing, retired from broadcasting on 25 April. Donncha hosted his last Failte Isteach programme after many years at the Donnybrook station. This marks the end of an era. We wish him all the best in his retirement.

Day Job, a song composed by Canadian singer Gord Bamford, is the brand new single from Robert Mizzell. It has also been recorded by Cavan man Eamon Jackson. Back in the 1970s, Johnny McEvoy and Pat Ely had the Charley Pride million-selling song, All I Have To Offer You Is Me, in the Irish charts at the same time.

Julie Healy from Galway had a full house at the launch of her first album, Top of the World, in the Ard Rí Hotel in Tuam. It was a special night. One of the songs on the 12-track collection, Paddy’s Navy, looks set to give Julie a major hit record.

Friend of Mine is the latest single from Aidan Quinn. Aidan enjoyed a major hit last year when he performed a duet with his mother Philomena Begley on All The Road Running.

Somewhere Down The Line is the new single from Anne Biddie. The Donegal singer-songwriter also has three of her songs on the new album from Shawn Cuddy. Anne is among the guests at Shawn’s weekend in Bundoran from 1-5 May.

John McIntyre and Brass Roots from Cavan are playing in the Rhu Glen Country Club Hotel, Slievrue, Co Kilkenny, on 9 May. Dave Lalor is there on 16 May.

The Isla Grant song Walk With Me was recently recorded by Dunmore-based Peter Wall and Carmel Quinn. Peter spent many years on the UK circuit where he was based in Birmingham. Another new single is due out from the duo very soon.
