John and Niamh record Patsy Cline classic

John McNicholl and Niamh Lynn have come together to record the country classic, I Fall To Pieces. The song topped the American charts for the legendary Patsy Cline back in 1961 and was penned by Harlan Howard and Hank Cochran. It was Patsy’s first number one hit and bore all the hallmarks of Owen Bradley’s famous production style. The release is a welcome surprise from Niamh and John and looks set to secure extensive airplay in the weeks ahead. The Derry native is working on his nineth album and is heading to Nashville and Memphis in November as part of the first Celtic Country US Tour along with Sandy Kelly, Marc Roberts and Keelan.

Dublin native Niamh Lynn has seen a surge in her popularity and her rendition of Sing Me An Old Fashioned Song has racked up over six million views on YouTube. She also hosts her own show, Niamh Lynn’s Music Mix, on the Keep It Country channel on Wednesday evenings at 7pm.

Upcoming dates for Niamh include shows in London, Scotland and Denmark while her second album is due for release later this year.

Busy summer for David James

Donegal singer David James is looking forward to a busy summer. Woke Up in Love With You is the catchy up-tempo new release from David who was among the guests at the recording of Opry Le Daniel last week. This was a major US hit for Exile back in the 1980s and David’s version was recorded and produced by Jonathon Owens in Granard.

David, who hosts the Jive Time Show on Highland Radio in Donegal from 2.30pm to 5pm weekdays, is looking forward to performing at the Marquee in Drumlish, Clonmany Festival, Harvey’s Point Summer Cabaret and various others shows and festivals throughout the summer.
