There was a more seasonal entry of sheep at Armoy Mart this week, with just over 500 head being forwarded for sale.
Limited numbers, combined with an increase in factory prices, resulted in a much livelier trade and prices were up significantly on previous weeks.
Hoggets
Hoggets sold to a top price of £114 for a pen of sheep weighing 29kg half-weight, followed by £110 for a pen of 28kg hoggets.
Pens weighing 26kg to 27kg half-weight sold from £106 to £109, with £103 to 108.50 paid on 24kg to 25kg hoggets.
Hoggets weighing 22kg to 23kg sold from £96.50 to £103.
Fat ewes sold from £77 for feeding types to a top price of £102 for fleshed crossbred animals. Breeding ewes sold to £168.
