BEAM deadline

The deadline for applications for the €100m BEAM scheme has been extended until Sunday 15 September. IFA livestock chair Angus Woods encouraged all eligible farmers to make their application before that date. He said at the request of the IFA, the Department of Agriculture has also opened online clinics to assist farmers with their applications. IFA local offices around the country are available to assist farmers with the application.

IFA at the Ploughing

Don’t forget to visit the IFA stand at the National Ploughing Championships in Carlow next week. IFA officers will be in attendance over the three days and will have information on the organisation’s latest campaigns. Visit the stand at Block 3, Row 18, Stand 401.

Brexit support

As part of the IFA’s campaign on Brexit and the budget in October, IFA president Joe Healy met the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and the Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe this week to press for strong Government support for the farming sector in the context of a damaging Brexit and to safeguard farmers and the rural economy.
