Around 507 lots were on offer at Hennessy Auctioneers' monthly machinery auction held in old Portlaoise Mart, Co Laois, last weekend.

Auctioneer John Hennessy told the Irish Farmers Journal: "There was a smaller entry than usual at Saturday's auction, but the quality of equipment on offer was good."

Trade was strong for clean machinery at the auction, with a clearance rate of over 80% and a number of larger lots still under negotiation.

All prices were subject to 5% commission. No VAT applies to items unless stated otherwise.

This three-point linkage-mounted Orsi Hedgcutter sold for €4,000.

This square-axle Massey Ferguson 135 went under the hammer at €2,000.

This 2011 Palms forestry trailer, which came with a log grab, sold for €4,300.

This Mandam 3m disc harrow sold for €6,000 including VAT.

This Conor 17 cubic metre twin-tub diet feeder, equipped with fold-down trays to feed into high troughs, was bid to €12,500 but didn't manage to sell.

This Takeuchi TB016 1.5t mini excavator, ideal for digging in awkward places, sold for €5,300.

One bidder purchased this 14t tandem-axle dump trailer for €4,950.

This 2016 Polaris Ranger 1000 diesel, equipped with a 4.5t winch and only 3,000 hours on the clock, was bid to €8,000 but didn't sell.

A Murska grain roller sold for €3,000 at the auction.

This 32ft tri-axle low-profile bale trailer was purchased for €6,000 at the auction.

One bidder offered €7,000 for this 20ft Richard Western grain/beet trailer, but it wasn't enough to clinch the deal.

One bidder bought this Kuhn 3004 3m power harrow, which came equipped with a APV seeder, for €5,000.

This Ifor Williams 14x6 drop-side trailer sold for €2,800.

This Komatsu D409 bull dozer was bid to €7,000 but failed to sell.
