Last Thursday 12 April, a Guinness world record was set by Narraghmore vintage society from Co Kildare. The record was for the largest parade of Ferguson, Massey-Harris and Massey tractors.

A new Guinness world record was set by Narraghmore Vintage club in Kildare with 285 Ferguson, Massey-Harris and Massey tractors in parade over 3.2 kms

The tractors had to maintain a maximum of two tractor lengths between one another during the parade, they all had to complete the 3.2km course and they had to be either a Ferguson, Massey-Harris or Massey tractor.

Another requirement was there had to be an official every 1km along the course to count the tractors. These results were then cross-checked once the tractors had parked up. The event was also covered by RTE’s Big Week on the Farm from local GAA club St Laurences. Live on air, the announcement was made that the record had been broken with 285 tractors counted over the line setting a Guinness world record.
