The National Ploughing Association (NPA) Innovation Arena is the perfect place to launch new innovations, and this year Irish Farmers Journal readers can vote for their favourite innovation in the People’s Choice category.

The NPA Innovation Arena puts inventions from Ireland on show to the world and helps establish their success by introducing them to the marketplace and facilitating networking that will help them take steps towards achieving commercial success.

In the build-up to this year’s Ploughing Championships, each day we will profile four of the innovators that will have products on display.

Ozone Industries Ireland

RainSafe is an AgriSafe water treatment machine which is used to treat the water in poultry farms prior to it being consumed by the birds giving the flock clean, aerated and slighted ozonized water for drinking.

This product has been shown in tests to significantly reduce mortality in poultry flock production as well as dramatically improving the food to protein ratio and also reducing the need for antibiotics in poultry flocks.

Pearson Milking Technology

Pearson Global Assist is a worldwide support service for dairy automation equipment.

This service provides an instant response to automation issues and can provide software updates at the push of a button from anywhere in the world.

If an issue arises in the milking parlour, the farmer can call Pearson support anytime, day or night, and the service technician can log in remotely to the farm process computer. The issue can be diagnosed and fixed remotely by the technician.

PEL Waste Reduction Equipment

The PEL range of bottle crushers, bin compactors, vertical balers, silage wrap balers and oil filter crushers will reduce your waste volumes by up to 90% and your overall waste disposal costs.

All PEL Waste Reduction Equipment products are developed and manufactured in Ireland, are compliant with the ISO9001 Quality Standard and are CE certified.

Powers Farm Services

The bovine wash out rod is a stainless steel rod which is used for the introduction of uterine medications for cattle.

Engineered to fit Metricure and ordinary syringes, it is manufactured in Co Cork using the highest grade of stainless steel.

This simple yet effective method of carrying out a routine animal care procedure on livestock breeding farms earned a gold medal in the National Dairy Awards 2016 for its inventor Daniel Power.
