FBD Insurance

There is nothing quite like a face-to-face chat with an insurance expert to make sure you have the right product for your needs.

The Ploughing is always a great place to have that conversation and FBD experts will be on hand at their stand throughout the event.

However, they will also have a host of well-known faces to give advice on health and wellbeing, home renovation, motor and travel.

Catherine Fulvio will be giving advice for healthy eating on the road.

Catherine Fulvio is a woman who is always on the go whether she is driving across Ireland for cookery demos or travelling across Italy for her TV programmes.

She’ll be on hand to share her top tips to ensure each and every journey you make is safe and enjoyable for everyone.

She will also be giving advice for healthy eating on the road and how to keep children entertained on long journeys.

Paul and Gary O’Donovan, the Cork brothers fresh from their recent European championships silver medal success along with their achievement at the 2016 Olympic Games, will be on hand to chat about their active lifestyles.

And for those thinking of taking on a home renovation project, don’t miss Hugh Wallace on the Thursday of the Ploughing. Hugh is one of Ireland’s most respected architects and judge on RTÉ’s Home of the Year. He’ll bring the audience through a journey of décor and design tips to help improve the spaces we already live in, as well as advice on how to approach a renovation or extension.

He will also be discussing the best way to approach the restoration of a farmhouse or farm buildings. Hugh says: “I’m really looking forward to the National Ploughing Championships. One of the topics I’ll be talking about is the restoration of farm buildings and the great experiences I’ve had on farms growing up.”

While all that is happening, the kids will also be entertained with a Walk The Plank virtual reality game, which simulates walking a plank that is 80 storeys-high in the air.

  • Zurich Insurance

It will be all talk at the Zurich Insurance stand this year as well, and while we are sure most of it will be about insurance, there will also be a fair amount of chatter about the Charolais heifer that visitors can win. You can find out more when you’re chatting to the Zurich farm insurance experts available to discuss your requirements.

Kids may find this adult chatter a bit boring but they are sure to be entertained as following last year’s success, AgriKids founder Alma Jordan will return to deliver farm safety workshops to children.

Safety games and interactive demos for children of all ages mean children will be well-equipped with farm safety knowledge while also having fun. New to the Zurich stand this year, Alltech’s InTouch nutritionists will be holding talks and open Q&A sessions.

Feed shortage discussions will help farmers plan for the winter ahead and there will be an open discussion, which will allow the team to see how they can work with the farming community to solve these issues.

Sessions will take place over the three days at 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm. Last, but certainly not least, is rugby legend John Hayes.

The Bull will be returning this year to the Zurich stand.
