I’m all for farmer unity across borders, but the UK’s National Beef Association (NBA) has shot itself in the foot.

Asking Tesco about the lack of British beef on its shelves during the festive season, the NBA got the reply that “we are finding the beef from Ireland to be of a better quality for our customers”. “Shameful,” the NBA reacted, pointing to the then 45p/kg price gap across the Irish sea instead. What I’m taking away is that Irish beef is best.
