Weather forecast

Tuesday will be a cool, bright day, with blustery west to northwesterly winds.

Heavy and at times prolonged showers will affect some northern and northwestern counties in very strong and squally northwest winds, but showers will be scattered elsewhere and winds not as strong and there will be good dry bright periods also.

Tuesday night will see occasional rain and hail showers, with a few possibly falling as sleet on hills in western areas.

Frost will return later this week, as temperatures continue to fall.
