Weather forecast

Frost will clear on Friday morning, but mist and fog may linger for a time in the midlands, Met Éireann has said.

It is forecast to be dry with bright spells but cloud will increase from the south during the day and rain will reach the south coast by early afternoon.

This rain will extend northwards during the evening but looks set to stay dry in northern counties until after dark.

Top temperatures will reach 7-9°C in light to moderate easterly winds at first which will freshen as the rain spreads northwards.
