It will be windy today with strong southerly winds during the morning, changing to westerly this afternoon. Showers will occur mainly in western and southern counties this morning, but a spell of heavier rain will spread eastwards in the afternoon.

It will become mostly dry and clear this evening and early tonight with lowest temperatures of 2°C to 4°C and ground frost for a time. Cloud will increase later in the night bringing scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle. South to southwesterly winds will strengthen by the end of the night.
