Met Éireann forecasts that today will be mild, cloudy and breezy. Scattered outbreaks of rain this morning in southwestern, western and northwestern counties will be followed by more persistent rain developing there this afternoon and becoming heavy. It will be mostly dry in midland, eastern and southern areas but there will be some patchy rain in the south.

Afternoon temperatures will range from 12 to 15°C, in fresh and gusty southerly winds, strong on western and northwestern coasts.

It will become breezy and wet countrywide tonight with a spell of heavy rain in all areas for a time. A clearance to scattered showers will follow eastwards later in the night, with the rain clearing eastern coasts around dawn. It will turn cooler as the fresh and gusty southerly winds veer westerly. Lowest temperatures will range from 6°C to 9°C.
