Glanbia Co-op shareholders have approved the creation of a joint venture bringing together Glanbia’s Irish operations at a special general meeting in Punchestown.The European Commission is planning a 10-year license renewal for glyphosate, however Copa and Cogeca are pushing for 15-year authorisation.Aryzta has announced the appointment of Kevin Toland as the group’s new chief executive. Toland is currently the chief executive of DAA, the management company of Dublin and Cork airports.One farmer in Co Laois has lost 13 of his sheep, a mixture of ewes and lambs, to a number of dog attacks in the last fortnight.A combination of wind direction and climate have resulted in significant yellow rust infection in some winter wheat crops.
